haha heyyy! soo its really good that you are starting cheer again! so from what you told me, you basically know the basic motions high V, T’s and such! so to secure a spot on the jv team, it be the best if you become more verstile and comfortable with, jumps, stunting, and tumbling again! depending on your frosh, jv, and varsity team is i cant give your the best tips? haha but deffinaltlyy start to go tumbling!
so for tips for round offss:
okay so a round off is ALMOST like a cartwheel! but you defff dont need a perfect cartwheel to get a round off.
you start off a round off like you start off a cartwheel, BUT there are a couple of things of key things that you do, when you are doing a round off.
FIRST:) you start off you round off just like you would start off your cartwheel, but when you place your hand, place your handsin a T shape!! kinda like- V>
unlike when you do a cartwheel your hand positions like this: <> its KEY that you positions your hands in like a Tish shapes so you get a nice high rebound!
next when you reach to peak of the cartwheel, let the followling leg “catch up” to you leading leg, the moment your two legs are together, USE YOUR ARMS AND SHOULDERS TO POP ( really simliar to a handstand snap down) and snap your legs down. The moment your legs land you should rebound nice and high:)
you leg musceles should be controling the WHOLE process NOT GRAVITY:) to gain body control practice by doing a cartwheel but stoppping your body mid way (should resemble a handstand, if its your first time or you no you have no body control make sure to get a spot if its your first time!! )
hope this helps!! :)
